What I like:
Primarily I really like it when athletes from all over the world can get together and compete regardless of politics and conflicts between nations.
Secondarily I like watching a few of the events, notably mens swimming and I usually end up watching women's gymnastics (not so much by choice, but because others in the room have an interest).
What I don't like:
When people 'boycott' the Olympics because of the hosting nation's policies, actions, or objectives (I'd link some sites here but I wouldn't want to give them any airtime). It's about the athletes folks, nothing else matters when it comes to the Olympics.

I like watching girls fall off the uneven bars in gymnastics and smack face first into the ground. Everytime I see it happen I have to laugh.
That's like watching a car wreck. Terrible but you can't look away...
I don't like the reporters that interview the athletes. They can be so completely insensitive and rude. They were interviewing the US girl gymnast(Alicia Sacramone) who screwed up yesterday, asking her how she felt about the whole situation and her part in their only getting the silver. The girl looks like she is about to lose it and the reporter keeps asking these stupid insensitive questions. Now that is just wrong!
Agreed. They may as well ask, "You smashed your face on the floor, how did that feel?". I bet if athletes started replying with, "How do you think it felt, loser?" things would be different.
Agreed, I wish the athletes would say something like that too! Put those reporters in their place.
