A quick note on the Presidential Election

About the McCain/Palin ticket:

Although I am a registered Republican, I don't think I can in good conscious vote for McCain/Palin. I've read everything I can on John McCain including the lengthy Wikipedia article about him. I don't think getting caught by the enemy and thrown into a POW camp makes someone great, but the way they handle themselves while in captivity sure can- and McCain did very well (read about it). And although I respect McCain's experience he's too inconsistent, prone to anger, and heaven forbid he should push daisies during his presidency then the hockey mom will take over, and that's absolutely unacceptable. Palin may be a decent governor, but she is not ready to be the Commander-in-Chief.

About the Obama/Biden ticket:

If they were a bit more conservative I'd be with them full throttle, but they're not. Barrack Obama is an excellent orator and leader. He's had some solid accomplishments and acts presidential, and that carries a lot of weight with me. And I think Joe Biden does the same (although when compared to the hockey mom in a debate I think I'd look pretty suave too). He has an impressive background as well.

Other tickets

I'm looking into the other candidates now like Ralph Nader and Cynthia McKinney, just to make sure to cover all my bases.

I've read where they stand, I've watched the debates, I've investigated their histories and am still not sure definitively which way to vote. Fortunately I'm very idealistic and believe that the presidency is greater than any one man (or woman), and that this country will continue to survive regardless of who the next president is- as long as the will of the people prevails. What do you think?

I agree I think they are trying to use McCain's POW experience to somehow guilt voters into voting for him, I might point out however... Palin is a total hottie... I can't remember ever having a hottie for VP before so at least consider that much lol

I agree. It seems that I lean toward the lesser of the two I am uncomfortable with. I have never liked McCain and there is too much I don't feel comfortable with on the Obama ticket.
I feel that if I vote for one of the lesser knowns or a write in, which is what I have considered, then I am giving a vote to one of the two main candidates.
Regardless of who is elected, there are so many fires to put out that it will be a rocky 4 years for anyone and for our nation.
I wish I could feel more positive about any of the candidates.

Don't forget, you can always write in the person who you think will be right for the job. I cannot consciously vote for either of these candidates, so I will be doing a write in. I know exactly where my states votes will go, so it really doesn't matter anyways. At least I will a clear conscious and know that I did not back either of these clowns.

I think all politicians should be put out to pasture and we should start over. Now I just need to find this magic kool aid everyone is drinking so I can see the light about the oreo messiah.

I to am not thrilled about either candidate. Then again the only persons views I agree with are my own, and even then I agree about 10%.

PS. I hope grandma doesn't read your blog. She'll give you an old fashion belt to the snoot for talking down Mcain.

RIP capitalism - 1776 to 2008. But look on the bright side, now you won't have to actually work to earn money. Just put your hand out and President Obama will walk across the water to put some government cheese in your hand.
