If ever there ever were a (positive) word to describe me, it would be 'Idealist'.
Idealist: One whose conduct is influenced by ideals that often conflict with practical considerations.
This is why I chose to vote for who I thought would be the best candidate for president instead of voting simply to try to stop who I thought would not be. Some call that throwing my vote away, I call it idealism. I think if everyone voted for who we thought would be the best president regardless of party affiliation or media publicity we would be much better off. I also believe this was the intended purpose for voting in the first place. Don't misunderstand me, I understand the strategy of politics fairly well but think it's a bunch of horse crap.
In the end I willfully pledge my support to the new presidency and will also be able to sleep well at night knowing I didn't play the game or truly 'throw my vote away'.

OK this has nothing to do with politics because I absolutely HATE politics. It's always choosing the lesser of two evils. Instead it's to tell you how adorable your family is. Your kids are beautiful and yeah i did notice that crime was down but then again i do live on the HOA side of town sooo...
I hate politics as well. My personal phillosophy is vote who you think is best regardless of party affiliation or of how insignifcant it might be due to the dominance of a particular vote in your state.
Even though I was pretty sure my vote was not going to matter, I took my lunch hour and went with my wife and kids to vote. I didn't get an "I voted" sticker, though. lame :(
