Less than a week ago a colleague of mine in the National Guard took his life. Like with most suicides those left behind are inclined to wonder what could have been done to prevent this from happening. Were there warning signs? If so, was no one watching for them? This person held a prominent and respected position within the squadron, and I like many did not see this coming. I guess sometimes it takes something like this happening to remind us all that we need to watch out for each other more and be more sensitive to each others needs. The Air Force refers to this as being a good wingman, I call it being a good human being.

So sorry to hear that. Good advice.
I totally agree. It is so sad to see something like this happen and I think it really effects the people that the person leaves behind more. I for one never saw it coming. In fact, he was a person that was always there for others. All I can do now is pray for him, his family, friends because I will for sure miss his smiling face in the hallways of the squadron.
